PIC has long been driven by the desire to Never Stop Improving. This obsession lives within our culture, and continues to motivate us to invest in and develop new technologies that will help further accelerate and deliver increased genetic differentiation to our customers.
Our commitment to investing in research and development ensures we remain highly active in areas such as: data capture and trait development, genomic evaluation, genome sequencing and assisted reproductive technologies. This investment, which most recently led to our proprietary relationship based genomic evaluation platform, will continue to deliver future points of acceleration for our genetic program.
Our latest investments in research and development have led us to announce in December 2015, the development of the
first pigs resistant to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (“PRRSv”),
through a long-standing collaboration with the University of Missouri. More information can be found regarding this announcement here as well as an FAQ regarding it.
